Teaching

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is based on my passion for education and born from a love of music and a desire to help others. It is built upon my experiences as a learner, and as a practising professional. I take a holistic approach to teaching and believe that through effective communication and an understanding of the personal needs of the individual as well as my own, I can provide quality, accountable, musical education allowing my students to grow as both musicians and individuals.

Grading / Qualifications

All students are taught from an accredited syllabus though lessons are always tailored to the individual student based on their own personal needs, and interests.

Students follow either RSL Awards or Trinity syllabi and are given the choice whether to study formally towards accredited qualifications (via Graded exams) or informally.

I am proud that all my students hold 100% pass-rate achieving mostly Merits and Distinctions. Over the years I have helped students enter well over 100 exams in total, ranging from Debut/Initial up to (and including) Grade 8.

Lessons With Nishan

Majority of 1-2-1 lessons are held at a purpose built studio in Long Eaton, though I also attend a number of schools in Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire as a visiting peripatetic music teacher.
